• Uso:
O past perfect indica qual ação ocorreu em primeiro lugar no passado. Geralmente é usado com after, before, when, etc.
The kids had slept before we arrived.
He had left when you called him.
Past Perfect Continuous
Had been + verbo terminado em ing
Afirmativa: They had been working.
Interrogativa: Had they been working?
Negativa: They had not been working.
• Uso:
O past perfect continuous enfatiza a continuidade da ação ocorrida em primeiro lugar.
I had been working before you arrived.
